AeroGem Engineering

AeroGem Engineering Solutions was formed in August 2011 to meet demand from the metals recycling industry for solutions to issues. These included processing of equipment, material handling and disposal as well as health, safety and environmental advice. Aerogem's founder, John McCabe, has an international reputation as an engineer and trouble-shooter.

With John's focus now on AeroGem, the company is growing in strength. Recent contracts include a major project with a US metal recycler to design, procure and install a state of the art nickel processing plant at the Seletar Aerospace Park in Singapore, home to a cluster of aerospace industries generating a huge amount of material for recycling.

John worked for the highly-successful Scottish metals recycling company Caledonian Alloys before accepting a contract involving the design and installation of a 36MW HFO (heavy fuel oil) fired power station for Mauritania in north-west Africa.

He has also been involved with the supply and installation of equipment for companies including Honeywell in the Czech Republic, SOS Metals on America’s west coast, IMET Alloys in North Carolina and the UK and a large Titanium producer in the United States.

His most recent contract involves the manufacturing and supply of pipe frame modules for use in a waste water recycling plant in the USA. John will lead the installation team on the project which will be complete in the spring of 2014 and make the clients fully compliant with local environmental requirements. This project incorporates ultra-filtration and Ion-Exchange equipment which has been sourced from Europe, UK and USA vendors to provide a complete solution for the customer.

Aerogem has just placed orders for the supply and installation of new processing equipment for a UK company and continues to work with clients providing the best possible solutions based on best practices and industry standards.

Aerogem also offers maintenance and repair services and has a fully appointed, well organised workshop with machining and fabrication capabilities allowing a range of mechanical and electrical disciplines to be supplied.
