Exsel wins £1million contract from Flooring Republic

Date Published: 03/01/2018

EXSEL GROUP, recognised by Deloitte’s as one of the best performing IT and communications companies in Scotland, has announced it has won a contract worth over £1million.

The contract for Flooring Republic, which has stores throughout the UK, was revealed as Exsel officially opened its new headquarters at Glasgow Business Park.

Exsel will supply Flooring Republic with a number of services, including Exsel Cloud, Wi-Fi, Hosted IP Telephony and Printing Services.

Managing Director Tom McDonald said: “The move into the new office represents an exciting time for our company, it has been a great year at Exsel and this really tops it off.”

Flooring Republic becomes the latest company to join Exsel’s portfolio which already includes the SFA, Celtic FC, the Scottish Futures Trust, Muir Construction and leading charity Enable Scotland.

Tom said: “We’re happy to welcome Flooring Republic into our growing list of clients. With stores throughout the UK, this deal helps us to achieve our aim of becoming one of the UK’s leading providers of IT and communications.”

Exsel provides a range of IT and telecommunication solutions to companies of all sizes including business mobile phones, phone systems and hosted IT telephony, management of printing and photocopying solutions and IT support services including cloud based solutions.

Last year Exsel won backing worth half a million pounds from Coralinn LLP, the private investment vehicle of leading Scottish entrepreneur Hugh Stewart OBE,

and since then the private equity company has increased its investment by a further £1m.

Under Coralinn’s guidance, Exsel has undergone a restructuring programme which includes the move to its new headquarters at Glasgow Business Park.

Hugh said: “We are delighted with the progress at Exsel since we invested. This winning of this major new contract is further evidence of the progress is making.

“We have refocused them towards further growth and we are delighted to support their growth plans. We expect to see continued significant growth in 2018.”

The company currently employs 27 staff but that is expected to grow as it expands its operations into new offices in Livingston.

Exsel was ranked 27th in the prestigious Deloitte’s Fast 50 in November this year, one of only two Scottish companies to achieve the ranking. It’s the second year in a row it has been recognised by Deloitte for its performance and follows being shortlisted earlier this year in the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce business awards in the Best Performing Business category.

It was also ranked 118th in Deloitte’s Fast 500 for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) this year.
